OPORTUNIDADE DE BOLSAS DE PÓS-DOUTORADO FAPESP NO CEFAVELA
Centro de Estudos da Favela lança primeiro edital para seleção de pós-doutorandos
Recém-criado, o CEFAVELA é um Centro de Pesquisa, Inovação e Difusão da Fundação de Amparo à Pesquisa de São Paulo (Cepid-Fapesp), sediado na Universidade Federal do ABC (UFABC).
Estão abertas as inscrições para o processo seletivo de até quatro vagas de pós-doutorado para atuação no Centro de Estudos da Favela (CEFAVELA). Trata-se de um dos novos Centros de Pesquisa, Inovação e Difusão da Fundação de Amparo à Pesquisa de São Paulo (Cepid-Fapesp), sediado na Universidade Federal do ABC (UFABC), e que tem como objeto de estudo a favela. Podem se candidatar brasileiros/as e estrangeiros/as que tenham título de doutorado obtido há, no máximo, sete anos. O prazo se encerra em 30 de setembro.
Os/as candidatos/as deverão escolher apenas uma das quatro linhas disponíveis para submissão. Na Linha 1 está o projeto Favelas Revealer, que tem como objetivo desenvolver um arcabouço metodológico inovador para identificação e caracterização de favelas brasileiras. A Linha 2 se dedica ao tema Mercado imobiliário em favelas e busca desenvolver um arcabouço teórico inovador e métodos correlatos de investigação empírica para avançar a fronteira do conhecimento sobre os mercados imobiliários nas favelas hoje.
A Linha 3, A multidimensionalidade ambiental na urbanização de favelas, visa desenvolver uma reflexão crítica e propositiva sobre o tratamento ambiental nas favelas, considerando abordagens teóricas críticas e enfatizando o papel das infraestruturas na urbanização. A Linha 4, por fim, abarca o projeto Experiências internacionais de urbanização de favelas, uma pesquisa multidisciplinar em favelas e comunidades urbanas da América Latina após programas de melhoria e consolidação.

Center for Favela Studies launches first call for post-doctoral fellows
Recently created, CEFAVELA is a Research, Innovation and Dissemination Center of the São Paulo Research Foundation (Cepid-Fapesp), based at the Federal University of ABC (UFABC).
Applications are now invited to up to four post-doctoral positions at the Center for Favela Studies (CEFAVELA). This is one of the new Research, Innovation and Dissemination Centers of the São Paulo Research Foundation (Cepid-Fapesp), based at the Federal University of the ABC (UFABC), and its object of study is the favela. Brazilians and foreigners with doctoral degrees obtained no more than seven years ago can apply. The deadline is September 30.
Applicants must choose only one of the four lines available for submission. Line 1 includes the Favelas Revealer project, which aims to develop an innovative methodological framework for identifying and characterizing Brazilian favelas. Line 2 is dedicated to the theme Real estate markets in favelas and seeks to develop an innovative theoretical framework and related empirical research methods to advance the frontier of knowledge about real estate markets in favelas today.
Line 3, The multidimensionality of the environment in favela upgrading aims to develop a critical and propositional reflection on the environmental treatment of favelas, considering critical theoretical approaches and emphasizing the role of infrastructures in the upgrading process. Line 4, finally, includes the project International Experiences in Favela Upgrading, a multidisciplinary research project on favelas and urban communities in Latin America following upgrading and consolidation programs.

Sobre o CEFAVELA
O CEFAVELA (https://bv.fapesp.br/pt/auxilios/115224/centro-de-estudos-das-favelas-cefa/) começou a operar em agosto de 2024. Ele reúne pesquisadores nacionais e internacionais de diferentes áreas do conhecimento e instituições acadêmicas de pesquisa e visa ampliar as articulações dessas instituições com órgãos de governo e sociedade civil que atuam na temática.
Seu foco é a construção de abordagens teóricas, metodológicas e empíricas, de viés quantitativo e qualitativo, sobre o caráter multifacetado e complexo da favela, bem como a compreensão dos limites e potenciais de intervenções estatais nos territórios da favela. O Centro busca, por meio de uma abordagem interdisciplinar, gerar e disseminar conhecimentos para ampliar a compreensão do fenômeno, bem como dos limites e potencial de programas e políticas de melhoria no contexto urbano contemporâneo.
Dirigido por Jeroen Johannes Klink, professor titular da UFABC e coordenador do Laboratório de Estudos e Projetos Urbanos e Regionais (LEPUR), o CEFAVELA conta com uma rede ampla de parceiros nacionais e internacionais: Instituto Nacional de Pesquisas Espaciais (INPE), Faculdade de Arquitetura e Urbanismo da USP, Ministério das Cidades, Instituto Brasileiro de Geografia e Estatística (IBGE), União Nacional por Moradia Popular (UNMP), Escuela de Planeación Urbano Regional da Universidade Nacional da Colômbia, Indian Institute for Human Settlements (IIHS), School of the Built Environment da Oxford Brookes University (Inglaterra), Geographic Data Science Lab The University of Liverpool (Inglaterra), e Faculty of Geo-Information Science and Earth Observation (ITC), da University of Twente (Holanda).

About CEFAVELA
CEFAVELA (https://bv.fapesp.br/pt/auxilios/115224/centro-de-estudos-das-favelas-cefa/) began operating in August 2024. It brings together national and international researchers from different fields of knowledge and academic research institutions and aims to expand the links between these institutions, government bodies and civil society working in this area.
Its focus is on building theoretical, methodological and empirical approaches, with a quantitative and qualitative bias, on the multifaceted and complex nature of the favela, as well as understanding the limits and potential of state interventions in favela territories. Through an interdisciplinary approach, the Center seeks to generate and disseminate knowledge to broaden the understanding of the phenomenon, as well as the limits and potential of improvement programs and policies in the contemporary urban context.
